Qualified Running Coach

As a certified VDOT O2 Distance Coach, my coaching methods are based on the methods of renowned coach Jack Daniels. A respected coach who has trained olympic athletes, contributed immensely to coaching methods for half marathon and marathons, plus he created the VDOT formula. 

VDOT (v what?) stands for V̇O2 Max (pronounced V dot O2 Max) and is the amount of oxygen you consume in 1 minute of running and gives an accurate indication of your fitness level. This value is calculated from a 5k test or a recent race result and is then used in the VDOT formula to calculate your ideal pacing zones. This enables me to give you individualised pacing zones for each type of run and race predictions for various distances.

This method of coaching means you will run at the right level for you and your goal, these paces are then built into your structured training plan each week. Each run on your plan will be a set distance and not a vague “40 minutes easy”, each run serves a specific purpose and moves you towards your goal. Your training plan is completely customised to you, from the paces you will train at to the distance for each run.
