My name is Jonathan, I’m originally from the UK and currently living in Austria. I began running in 2009 and since then I have lost 35% of my body weight, more than halved my half marathon time, run a 2:52 marathon and now a qualified running coach. I want to help you achieve your running goals, whatever they may be. I know how incredible it feels to cross the finish line knowing your training paid off and you’ve achieved your goal and I want to help get you there.

I’m a certified VDOT O2 Distance Running Coach and I specialise in half marathon and marathon coaching. These are primarily what I run myself and have the most experience in. I use the methods of Jack Daniels as the basis for my coaching as they have a scientific and calculated approach, coupled with proven training methods.

Over the years I've gained a wealth of running knowledge by studying various training styles, I've also made plenty of mistakes along the way during my training. I want to help you avoid making the same mistakes and get the most from your running.

My first ever race was Cheltenham 10k in 2009 which I finished in 58:07 and left me exhausted.

I knew I could do better and that I wasn't living the life I wanted as I was overweight. So began my journey, reading books by famous coaches, reading everything I could about training, asking better runners about their training, watching videos, picking up knowledge wherever I could find it.

Most importantly though was putting it into practice when training in order to become a better runner. As well as becoming an all-around healthier and happier person along the way!

Fast forward a few years and my marathon PB is 02:52:46 and lost 35% of my bodyweight in the process. It's been a long, but incredibly rewarding journey!

That's me before I started running and eating a healthy diet.

It’s this experience that gives me a greater understanding of my client's needs and whatever their level of running is (everyone is welcome!). These days I’m grateful to be lining up in the first starting block, because I used to line up in the last one. It’s this experience and knowledge of training concepts and methods that I use to help my clients to reach their goals.

I was lucky to be part of a project with adidas in 2017 where I was trained to run the Frankfurt Marathon in under 3 hours. During this project, I learned so much more about running from the coaches and got to spend time with professional athletes.

This experience and knowledge not only made me a better runner, but made me want to share my knowledge with others to help them reach their goals too. I found that coaching brings me a true sense of happiness knowing that I’m helping people reach their goals and showing them that they can do it!

A Bit More About Me

Jonathan Meadows Primed Running

I’m originally from the UK and currently living in Austria. I’m a keen runner who is always striving to improve my own running as well as coaching people so they can reach their goals. I also like learning more about nutrition, discovering new vegan recipes and cooking healthy meals. I’m also into personal growth and development to become the best person I can be.

Outside of running, I enjoy hiking up the Austrian Alps during the summer and skiing down them in the winter, being bad at Yoga, stand up comedy, learning German and exploring everything that Vienna has to offer.
